Getting to Bryher

The best way to get to the Isles of Scilly for campers is to travel by sea from Penzance with the Scillonian III.
Bookings can be made direct with the Isles of Scilly Travel Centre, Quay Street, Penzance. Telephone 0845 710 5555. Early booking is advisable. If you are travelling on the Scillonian III, please make sure all your luggage is clearly marked for Bryher using the green labels issued by the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company. It will then be loaded into a Bryher container on the quayside in Penzance and transferred by the boatmen from the hold of the ship into our boat, the Firethorn, which meets the Scillonian III every day. On arrival on Bryher the luggage can then be transported to the campsite by tractor - please note, this needs to be pre-booked. Care should be taken with the weight of each item as the boatmen and tractor driver have the right to refuse to handle excessively heavy items. If you travel over by air with Skybus or by helicopter you will need to let us know your expected arrival time so that we can ensure that this will link in with boat times to Bryher. If you are transferring to or from another campsite the easiest way to do this is to fit in with the Firethorn’s trips to the other Islands - please telephone the day before to check on the boat times as boating is only organised one day in advance. We regret that it is not possible to book the tractor for arrivals or departures on Sunday. We can arrange the transfers to Bryher for you with your booking - just let us know how you are travelling.
